legion chalet.
this year was a shocker.
hell yeah.
now, one thing at time. first, there was barely any food in the house. second, the kids were glued to the xbox360 and their own PSPs. third, the weather was just plain bad. finally, and most importantly, the kids were really, really pampered. and all the ancients ended up playing maid to clean up their mess. it's really disappointing to see kids not taking responsibility for even the smallest things, like clearing their cups and trash and all.
it was so different from the chalets in previous years. perhaps we can conclude that our batch was so much more interactive than the kids in legion now.
i gotta give the sec3s credit for actually going the extra mile to get Fr Gerrard down to the chalet to celebrate mass. it was something that none of the batches had done before.
cycled down to the marina barrage with gideon and joshua on tuesday. we left at 10.15am and came back at 7.45pm. we went via east coast park, shenton way and all. we were supposed to cut across some path at the end of east coast park to hit the barrage but apparently the path wasn't built yet. we all put the blame gideon's phone's GPS(it was a posh nokia phone!). so much for technology.
after many-ful hours of cycling, we finally reached the singapore flyer. we had popeyes for lunch. it was, well, okay? wasn't as good as i thought it would be. resumed our journey at 2.30pm and we kinda reached the barrage at around 3pm. we left after awhile cos it was pretty boring. i mean, after all, it was just a dam. how can interesting can a dam be anyway? took few decent photos and all before leaving.
the journey back was crazy. we decided to cross some road to hit the stairs of one of the flyovers that would bring us to the east. everything was going smoothly until we finally started to cycle on the flyover. it started raining so bad that we couldn't see clearly and all. worst part of it was when we had to get down from the flyover cos it was some dirt path that had gone all muddy cos of the rain. had to get off and push the bikes through the mud. made it through the mud and the rain subsided.
we hit east coast park after quite a fair bit of time and the sky, much to our suprise, was all dark again. i thought the weather would hold out and that we could make it in time before it rained. unfortunately, the weather got the better of us and we were stuck at some small lil' shelter for damn long.
when the rain subsided(it was still pretty heavy), we figured that in order to make it back by 8pm, we had to leave. so we cycled through the rain. and the route back was the shit. it was darn depressing cos we had to cycle a path that was parallel to the runway and somehow, it seemed to be never ending. like, holy crap? legs were getting tired but somehow, we made it. reached changi beach park and pushed a lil more to hit changi village at 7.45pm, just in time for dinner.
it was fun. crazy fun.
it's never safe to tell anyone a secret.
dangerous to tell it to two.
to tell three is thoughtless folly
'cause then everyone else will know.
