nice, very nice.

the start of a well deserved break.

although i must admit that some things ticked me off real bad today in school. could have done other more productive things last night but i guess you could say the night was wasted doing less important stuff.

well, i guess i'm not gonna dwell on it, especially since my classmates have gotten over it and are prolly playing dota as i type out this lil' post.

but really, it feels nice. a "long" break awaits.

even if it's only for a few days.

by the way, is anyone heading back to SJI on Monday?

random stuff that i left out.

i didn't really blog about the recent ancients retreat so i thought i'll just write about the"highlights" and all.

1) dempsey is crazy/posh and very, very, very pricey. eg; a three scoops(3 ah! no more no less.) ice-cream at ben & jerry's there cost me and gabz $17.90. now, that is some shit. and milkshakes there cost like what, $8.50? and there are things you will never hear of, like 22 scoop ice-creams and crazy stuff like that. it's gonna be a long time till i step into ben & jerry's at dempsey. fine dining, nice cars and rich wine, dempsey's got it all.

2) never go to tuition when you're half-dead. went for class and there was this jj girl that recognised me from erin's/letice's party the night before who was nice enough to talk to me(even though i have this permanent go-away-and-leave-me-alone-face). she said something like, "you were there at the party yesterday night right?" and i was like, "what? (and i was like thinking, huh? what party? some drug party or something? what happened yesterday?!) and after a long while, all i said was, "yeah." mann, something tells me she's not gonna talk to me ever again.

3) BORDERS has nice stationary and arty farty stuff.(paperchase!)

4) don't look down on cheap biscuits. people are stuck with this mindset; more expensive = better. well, maybe this applies in most cases but i'm sure there are exceptions. Dominic bought some KGB cream biscuits(as written on the biscuit itself) and they were awseome. no la, not some russian secret service. Kong Guan Banana Cream Biscuits. awesome stuff for SGD$1.75. a pity it was just flavoured, cos the smell and all was just so, um, awesome. yeah. really, go get yourself some after all that mugging.

5) al-ameen is so yesterday. and so expensive these days too. heard there's a better one down the row.

6) national day is the most awesome public holiday, especially when it falls on mondays.

we believe,
we achieve.
grand opening,
grand closing.

jaded.

i think we feel it too often; that lack of interest in something or rather, that sense of dread that seems to creep up from behind you when you're about to do something the 100th time.

yes. we're jaded. we don't live like how we're supposed to go i guess. going with the flow, running through the routines like machines. well, some call it perfection while others call it plain stupidity. i think schools have taken the joy out of learning. everything is a "do-this-or-else-you-will-..."(replace ... with the following; i)be punished ii)fail your exams iii)both). and it's like how they don't want you to question them and they just keep telling you to take it as it is. yes, the whole chunk of it, without understanding it.
as a result, we just keep drowning ourselves in knowledge that we do not understand and that we have to keep regurgitating when required.
it is all pointless, because the aforementioned is simply not learning. and if it is learning at all, it would be good to note that it is a learning that we cannot appreciate and enjoy.
maybe all this can change,
so give me faith to finish the race.
'cos i believe the change should start with me.

butterfly.

butterfly butterfly, won't you sit me with in the fields?
and watch the sunset from behind the hills?
won't you lie down and rest a while with me on this starry night
whilst the moon glows silently with radiant light?

going vegan.

some weirdass flyer winded up at my doorstep when i was at retreat over the weekend.

it was about going vegan. yes, it's a noble cause, no doubt. it's intentions were good, that i'm sure but i felt that their argument for going vegan and all was a lil' contrived.

it twisted scripture to fit what they wanted you to think(that being vegan was good, and was going stop global warming).

it made eating meat/dairy foods sound wrong and a stupid choice(some of their facts were funny. eg; One Cost of Drinking Milk; -lactose intolerance). like right. it's either you have it or you don't, so how's that a cost/downside if you don't have it to begin with.

also, note the word they used; cost. funny word if you ask me.

don't get me wrong. i'm not against being vegan, i just found their argument a lil' forced. like they're trying way too hard to make you wanna become vegetarian.

second last weirdass thing, they kept quoting a Supreme Master Ching Hai. like hokay, who's he/she again?

finally, there was this link at the last page of the flyer. it said, i kid you not, the following, "Supreme Master Television. Constructive programming for a peaceful world." like holy shit. it sounded so communist.

on a random note, erin's party was kinda weird. so many faces, so lil' time.

fallen.

then He said, "what are you looking for?"

the paper chase

fingertips running through the pages.
weary eyes watching the tiny characters.
every little line,
leaves me tilting the hourglass again.

on a lighter note, when's the last time i went to BORDERS again? it's a really lovely place and i'm looking forward to spending a whole day or something. yeah. like real soon. 90+ days.

er, yeah. i kinda lost count?
